The RA Collection has been assembled over the past 30 years by an intuitive sharp-eyed connoisseur who has combined a passion for Chinese porcelain with a rigorous insistence on quality, beauty, rarity and historical relevance. This collection is probably the most comprehensive of its kind and includes important ceramic pieces from the Tang (618-907), Song (960-1279), Yuan (1279-1368), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.
It consists mainly of Chinese export porcelain items intended for the European market and includes for example more than 20 of the so-called “first order” pieces dating from the first quarter of the 16th century to the early 17th century and over 70 “Dutch provinces dishes”. It is unparalleled even by museum standards and is revealed in this three-volume set for the first time.
